Morning Glories

Image
"Buddies" From the buddy system when on a field trip in elementary school to a spouse to a business partner, we see examples of connection and dependence all around the world.  What can one deduce from this evidence but the fact that humans are made with a need for others?   "Blurry Purple" Out of focus  Not in place When did she loose her chance  To be in center stage? Instead the eye Sees thousands of stalks One green as the next Rather than purple locks Topping a head Who missed her chance But still stands in the scene As the color of this expanse "Grassy Waves" One bends after the other.  Each carries the effect of the wind onto the next.  Then stands up only to bow once more.  Over and over again.  If grass had a soul, would it not ask itself, "What is the point of me living this existence?  Blowing pointlessly in the wind?  Bending as just one more stalk in the millions under the dictatorship of the wind?".  Yet as I view...

Adventure to the Beach

"Rocky Rapids" Rough Spots Moments one wishes to forget Poking the feet til they bleed Current pushing into the gut Must cross the river Cannot stop half way How long, though? How much more pain? No one knows Must cross the river Cannot halt now. "Sole Survivor" A blessing, though it stands alone.  The shady place to rest in the middle of desert-like sand dunes.  Although you might feel lonely, misunderstood, unliked or unpopular... never forget that your kindness, listening ear or story could provide shade for a traveler in need. "Flight" In a pack, together day and night How to bid farewell when one takes flight? What discomfort when another follows that way Then leaves one member behind to stay! "End of the Day" Done Finally Nothing more Only rest in store Black silhouettes Details no longer matter Sit back and breathe From today you are free

"Vulnerability" Most people hate being vulnerable.  They avoid sharing the secrets, fears and challenges which make them seem weak.  Spaces in which others might harm them are carefully hidden away.  But when you open up to the trustworthy people around you, something beautiful happens.  A deep connections takes place.  One that's priceless.  You'll begin to see that others are also human with their own weaknesses.  And from the tough stuff, you can encourage each other as fellow sufferers.   "Dying Flame" Once vibrantly green, so full of life Now lays on hard ground feeling strife Experiencing pain which cuts like a knife Bashed against jagged rocks not at all nice Only wishing for a purpose once again in life "Striking" As one who stands out in many ways, I dread the unavoidable awkwardness of being the odd ball.  However, I often thought of other "red flowers", among the "mint green" general public, as striking.  Someone chal...

New Beginnings

Image
Hello once again friends.  Enjoy the sunrise if it's morning for you.  Appreciate blue skies if that is what's outside your window.  Look for the beautiful shades of grey if rainy clouds stare down at you.  Check the glowing moon if you're at the days end. Now, onto business.  By suggestion of a dear friend, I'm beginning a new series.  A series of short blog posts, only a few pictures in length.  This gives ease to me as the writer (as well as allowing me to get more posts out there faster 😁) and allows you readers more time to process through the words coming your way.  I come into this chapter with no deadline.  I might continue this series only for the summer, or I might use it long term.  We're on an adventure to see what works best for both side.  I appreciate input and sincerely hope this series proves enjoyable for you! "Bravely Budding" One cautiously leaves its cocoon behind, estimating the big world before its eyes...

Virginia Trip

Image
I take after my mother in the fact that I love to share the adventures I've had on my blog.  Traveling presents more than fun for me.  Through going to new place, I find a time of learning and exploration.  The newness gets me out of routine, forcing me to become more aware of my surroundings.  In doing such, I learn more.  This leads to greater appreciation for little things, time-tested ideas and different cultures.  I hope that you enjoy the differing scenes in this blog.  Maybe it even helps you reflect on traveling you've done or pushes you to get out of your bubble and experience other parts of our country and world! "Jumping off" This picture presents to you the huge gorge in West Virginia.  Miles of river meandering through mountainous landscape.  The wooden post in the focus of this photo represents to me the normal, predictable routine of home.  Or maybe it's not predictable for you, but it's the mundane everyday.  However...
